What Is a Direct Box and Why Would You Need One?

Di Box Audio Converter/amping system is a special type of audio converter box designed for low level amplification. Its function is to convert the high-quality audio signals to lower voltage signals suitable for use as input signal on any audio or music system. The conversion is done by thermal movement of the signal. Di Box audio converters are used mainly for recording and monitoring purposes. A DI box is an electronic device usually utilized in sound recording systems and in monitoring systems to link an unbalanced one, high-quality signal, direct one and balanced one, either via an XLR connection or an XLR cable to an optional monitor mix. These devices are available in the market in varying models, configurations and types. Some of them are wireless and therefore can be easily shifted from one place to another while others are fixed and require a fixed location.
